Ramsey Fd and Ramsey Rescue to Piermont NY after Sandy

DECEMBER 03 - On November 24, 2012, a contingent of Ramsey Firefighters and Rescue Squad members went to help the members of Piermont FD clean up their quarters and apparatus after Hurricane Sandy. Since the storm, members of Piermont FD have had almost no time as they continue to answer calls to tend to there own firehouse. Hurricane Sandy

OCTOBER 28 - As of this writing it seems that Hurricane Sandy will affect our town beginning with rain starting tonight and continue thru Wednesday. Sandy may produce sustained winds of 30 to 50 mph that could last for more than 24 hours and gusts may top 80 mph. Mutual Aid to Allendale House Fire

JULY 12 - On Wednesday afternoon July 11, the Allendale Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported kitchen fire at 24 West Crescent ave. First due units reported a working fire bringing mutual aid assistance to the scene. Ramsey Fire Dept 2nd Annual Golf Invitational

MAY 09 - Get out the clubs, the Ramsey Fire Department is sponsoring the 2nd annual RFD Golf Invitational. It will be held on July 21, 2012 at Loch Mor Golf Club in the Catskills. The cost is only $125 per golfer and that includes a full day of meals, golf and beverages as well as transportaion from Ramsey to the course and back. In anticipation of a potential drought this summer, the department may not be able to rely on the towns water system in the event of a fire. New Utlity Truck Makes Progress

FEBRUARY 05 - The new Utlity Truck (451) has been painted and is now in the process of the mounting of the necessary equipment. The FD expects delivery sometime later this month. A final inspection is planned before delivery so RFD members can go over the truck to ensure all is done properly. Once delivered, FD members will letter it and place and mount equipment for service. DECEMBER 09 - Members of the RFD went to Odessey Specialty Vehicles in Wharton, N.J. on Friday afternoon to inspect the new utility truck that was ordered earlier this year. The truck is built on a 2012 Ford F-550 FWD 4-door chassis. Firefighter Kerry Conklin Receives "Volunteer of the Year" Award

NOVEMBER 13 - At the November Borough Council meeting, Ramsey Firefighter Kerry Conklin was awarded the "Volunteer of the Year" award from the Mayor & Council. Kerry joined the FD several years ago and has been very active with the Public Education team, who works many hours bringing Fire Prevention and safety education to groups of people of all ages during the year. SEPTEMBER 02 - When the paperwork was done and the equipment restored back to regular duty, we came up with the following statistics for Ramsey Fire: 80 calls answered between 10pm Saturday and Tuesday afternoon, including 55 during the time the storm was raging Saturday and Sunday. Mutual Aid to Allendale Garage Fire

JULY 25 - At 2:00 A.M. on Monday 7/25 the Ramsey Fire Dept was called to Allendale for a fully involved garage fire on Franklin Turnpike. Tower Ladder 441 with Lt Jon Krehel (OIC) responded with Chief Jim Dougherty (430), Deputy Chief Randy Sterbinsky (450) and Captain Lou Warnet (460). JUNE 15 - The Ramsey Jr Woman's Club has recently donated to the Local Emergency Services ... Thank You ladies for your hard work and time ... The money donated to the fire department has been used for the purchase of FIT - 5 ....
