Scoop Night at Baskin Robbins

On Wednesday night, April 29, 2009, Ramsey FD attended the "31 cent Scoop Night" held at the Baskin Robbins on Franklin Turnpike. The FD was on hand proudly displaying the 1927 American LaFrance antique pumper along with 2 engines (434,433) and Tower 442. Firefighter Bill Ackerson displayed his antique fire chiefs car as well. Wyckoff Fire dept. was dispatched to a reported working structure fire on Clinton Ave. on Monday April 27, 2009 at around 3:30 P.M. Original reports were relayed to the Chief of up to 4 children were unaccounted for and possibly trapped. Ramsey neighbor helping in Iraq

In early March, Guy Green, the commander of the Ramsey VFW post, made it to Iraq, aka "the desert". He reported that he was doing well and making adjustments. Although he is not there with the military, (he retired from the Navy before he left Ramsey), he is there working for them and feels good to know that is making even a little difference in the way they can have some of the things they need ... On Saturday evening, April 4, 2009, at 20:52 hrs, the RFD was dispatched to a 911 call of a structure fire at 101 South Central Ave. Pd units on scene confirmed the working fire on the second floor of a large 2 story dwelling. On Saturday March 21 several Ramsey firefighters participated in a Firefighter Rescue training class at the Bergen County Fire Academy in Mahwah along with participants from numerous neighboring towns in a class sponsored by the Northwest Bergen Mutual Aid Association. Busy Night in Ramsey, No Rest for the Weary

At approximately 2am this morning the Ramsey FD was dispatched to Rte 17 southbound in the area of Presige BMW for a rollover Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA). All occupants were out of the vehicle with no major injuries reported. On Saturday March 7, 2009 at 16:17 hrs., RFD members were dispatched to a dumpster fire in the front yard of 61 Dogwood Terrace. Deputy Chief Carl Held was the first to arrive to find a 40-yard dumpster full of building materials on fire in close proximity of a new home under construction.
