The Upper Saddle River FD received a call of a basement fire at 25 Holly Drive early Friday Morning. USR FD arrived and found heavy smoke on the interior of a large wood frame. USR Command (1230) immediately called for mutual aid, bringing Saddle River and Ramsey to the scene. The smoke condition inside required multiple search teams to find the seat of the fire. The fire was then located in the basement utility room which extended through into the first floor. Tower 441 and Engine 432 responded and assisted USR units in search, extinguishment and overhaul. A second alarm was sounded bringing additional units from Mahwah, Wyckoff, Waldwick and Allendale. The fire was quickly extinguished, however extensive overhaul continued for a couple more hours as hot spots were discovered in the area of the fires origin. The fire is under investigation by authorities. No injuries were reported and the residents evacuated the home safely. Good job by the personnel on scene.
