The Ramsey Fire Department will be celebrating the life of Chief Robert Litchult this week. Chief Litchult passed last week in Bradenton, Florida at the blessed age of 97. For many of us Bob was and will always be "our Chief", having served in that position in 1948, 1949, 1952, and 1953. Additionally Bob served as Department President for 30 years and Relief Treasurer for 16 years. Bob was the Fireman of the Year in 1978, and received the Hillsdale Award in 1987 commemorating his 50 years of active service. A Navy veteran, Bob also served the Borough of Ramsey as a Councilman. A gentle man, slow to anger and a guiding light to many of us Bob was the epitome of a life of service.
Bob was brought back to his beloved Ramsey for his funeral and burial. On a bright, sunny and glorious day we brought our brother back home to his final resting place. The brotherhood and fellowship of family shared a great day to a great man.
