On Monday morning, May 10th, the Wyckoff Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported garage fire on Drury Lane. First units on the scene found a well involved 3 car attached garage with extension to the second floor and attic area. Wyckoff Chief Dave Murphy called for his second alarm assignment and the activation of NORCON. Ramsey FD was then dispatched to respond with the FAST unit. Chief Jim Dougherty and Deputy Chief Randy Sterbinsky responded with Tower 442 and support unit 443. Upon arrival, Ramsey was put to work and Ho Ho Kus FAST unit was assigned. Tower 442 was positioned on the "B" side of the home to assist with ventilation and to prepare for an attack should the fire reach this area. While this was set up, other members entered the structure with Wyckoff and other mutual aid companies to assist in the interior attack. The fire was soon brought under control, containing it to the garage, a room above and the attic area..
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Once again credit goes to the first responding crews on a successful aggressive interior attack, keeping the fire from consuming the entire house. Good job to our brothers in Wyckoff.
