Train versus Cement Truck on Main St
Email Print PDF RSS
By Fire Fighter Mark Madsen
May 21, 2010

We have all seen it on Main St, traffic stops and someone who did not wait for enough space to make it across gets stuck sitting on the tracks. The bells clang, the gates come down and there is a panic to clear the tracks for the inbound train. Barely ever does everyone not clear, but today was a bit different. A close call today at lunchtime as a freight train grazed the front of a cement truck with some minor damage to both.
Remember, don't go across if you can't fit on the other side! Over 60 passenger trains a day plus freight trains! Investigation by NJ Transit PD for the follow up.
