Last evening around 8:30, the RFD was dispatched to a reported Chimney fire on North Central Ave. Deputy Chief Chris Warnet arrived on scene first and observed a working fire on the outside of the home traveling up the side of the wooden chimney structure. Last Monday evening and this afternoon, the RFD has been familiarizing themselves with a new 55 and older facility in Upper Saddle River. The structure is a prefab designed wood frame and truss roof construction fully sprinkled. Each apartment has its own kitchen with individual heating and cooling units.
