This afternoon, the Ramsey FD was dispatched to a fully involved vehicle fire located on the first floor of the New Jersey Transit parking garage. Upon arrival of Deputy Chief Jim Dougherty, he confirmed a working fire and established command. First due engine connected to a hydrant and stretched 2 1-3/4" attack lines for extinguishment. Late last week, Ramsey Chief Doug Harvey received word from NJ State Congressman Josh Gottheimer, the RFD has been awarded a grant from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG).
