On Wednesday afternoon July 11, the Allendale Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported kitchen fire at 24 West Crescent ave. First due units reported a working fire bringing mutual aid assistance to the scene. Ramsey engiine 432 and Tower Ladder 441 responded with Chief Carl Held (430), Asst Chief Randy Sterbinsky (440), and Capt John Krehel (470) along with a Rescue from Waldwick, FAST from Mahwah Ramsey Rescue for air cascade and Allendale EMS. The fire was contained to the kitchen and quickly knocked down by first arriving Allendale firefighters. Tower 441 was placed in the driveway and set up to operate for possible extension above the fire. No extension occured and the fire was extinguished. Units were cleared of the scene in a little more than 1 hour. Good stop by Allendale guys on the first due engine. An aggressive interior attack paid off averting what could have been an extended operation in the summer heat. There were no reported injuries.
