On Monday night, the RFD conducted a drill on an acquired structure in Allendale. Members trained on the removal of victims from both the roof and interior. During the drill, Assistant Chief Jim Dougherty took the opportunity to show 3 future firefighters some of the equipment and allowed them to see the operation up close, while their parents looked on. The 3 brothers showed respect and were very interested and excited to be up close to see what firefighters do. The RFD takes great pride in educating the public in the complexities of saving lives and fighting fires. This training is the best platform for the public to view and understand how things work. |
