Morning call for service

This morning the RFD was dispatched to Arch street for a reported smell of gas. First units on scene were met with an additional report of smoke in the basement. After a quick investigation, the call was upgraded to a dryer fire. A minor fire was extinguished and ventilation was performed while the dryer was secured.
While on scene, Junior Firefighter Conner Behrmann took the opportunity to offer some helmets to a couple of kids while they watched. Always looking to cheer up the little ones. Units cleared within an hour.
