This morning at 8:40 am, Ramsey FD and Rescue were dispatched to the Shop Rite in Interstate Shopping Center for the reported smoke condition inside

Arriving PD units confirmed heavy smoke inside the store, prompting an Engine and Tower Ladder from Mahwah to respond. Crews investigated and found the cause to be a burnt transformer in a roof top HVAC unit. The business was vented and returned to normal operations, all FD units returned.
