By 462 Louis Warnet Jr.
January 18, 2009

Ramsey Firefighter James Warnet will be leaving for a tour in Iraq. James joined the Marine Corp. after graduating Ramsey High School in 2004. James has spent the last 4 years, starting at Parris Island for basic training, spending 1 year at Eighth & I in Washington D.C. and the last 2 years in Maryland in Security Forces. He is now at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina readying for his tour in Iraq. James has made his way up the ranks from Lance Corporal to Corporal and now has achieved Seargent. James will spend approximately 1 year in Iraq in command of his men. His exact detail has not been set as of yet. James is set to leave on January 20th.

James joined the FD at the age of 16 as a Junior and became a regular member at the age of 18 while in the Corp. James is the son of Lt. Lou Warnet and Peggy Warnet. James is the brother of Firefighter Christopher Warnet and his sister Michelle. James is also the brother of Michael Warnet who passed away Feb 3, 2008

James and his mom became EMT's with the Ramsey Ambulance Corp. and within hours of receiving their EMT Certificate were called to a residence where they both administered CPR and saved a life.

James is the fourth member of the RFD to go to Iraq and ironically all of them are Marines. They are as follows; Jeff Hendricks, Tim Magilll, and the late Michael Reilly who was killed while fighting a fire with the FDNY.

The RFD as well as his family are extremely proud of his achievements and we support his goals and wish him well.
