As you are well aware we have had a major snow storm in the tri-state area. Fortunately since the storm we have had no major incidents in the area. During a fire, the ability to get a continuous water supply is a precious commodity. We are appealing to the citizenry of Ramsey for your help. During the storm all of our fire hydrants have been snow covered. When a fire hydrant is needed and covered, the Fire Department has to dig it out which takes manpower and time to achieve, time which could be better spent getting into the house with attack lines.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! There are roughly 900 hydrants in Ramsey, the task is very daunting. If you have a fire hydrant on your property or in your neighborhood, please clear it off, at least 3' feet around. Even if you're reading this and you do not live in Ramsey, if your hydrant is covered please clear it out . Please help us help you, after all the life you save may be your own.
